Bali is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically depending on when you go. The island has two seasons — dry and wet — and each brings its own rhythm of crowds, prices and things to do.
The dry season (April–October)
This is peak season for good reason: sunny days, lower humidity and calm seas perfect for diving and island-hopping. July and August are the busiest and priciest months, so book stays well ahead.
If you want the classic Bali postcard — golden beaches and clear skies — aim for May, June or September.
The wet season (November–March)
Rain usually comes in short, heavy afternoon bursts rather than all-day downpours. The upside? Lush green rice terraces, fewer tourists and the best hotel deals of the year.
- May–June: great weather, smaller crowds
- July–Aug: peak season, book early
- Sept: shoulder-season sweet spot
- Jan–Feb: cheapest, greenest, occasional rain
Whenever you go, our advisors tailor the itinerary to the season — chasing surf swells, festival dates or the quietest beaches.
